Between headaches at home and the needy men at her job, a bartender thinks there isn’t much else that could muck up her day… and she’s very, very wrong.
Maisie has just about had it with mothering all the men in her personal life, and the dynamic at her bartending job isn’t much better. Today, all that pent-up frustration is going to make a mess of things. Welcome to Gunk, a scathing, visceral, and super fun indictment of the state of gender politics — with plenty of goopy practical effects to go along with it.
It’s going to be a goopy, gunky riot…with your help! Contribute to our production so we bring Gunk to the world!
If you do decide to contribute, please mark it with the note “GUNK” so we know to thank you in the credits!

ABOUT GUNK
Gunk was born out of two disparate feelings: first, a love of body horror from The Blob to The Fly to The Substance. Second, a dread about the regressive forces in contemporary culture that threaten to drag all of us backwards, starting with women.
My debut short, Howard, premiered at this year’s L.A. International Shorts Festival and continues to be screened on the festival circuit. In addition to getting plenty of positive attention from viewers, it was also a blast to make. When my partner and producer Heeseung Kim started toying with a story idea about a woman performing at work while dealing with a crisis, we both immediately got excited about bringing it to life alongside our friend and co-producer Cleo Handler.
